Dwarf Marans, spotted-gold
Today we'd like to introduce you to our original French Bantam Marans, barred-gold. These little chickens are not only tame and friendly, but also true laying prodigies. With over 140 eggs in their first year and a weight of up to 59 g (with a minimum hatching egg weight of 45 g), they are a highly recommended choice for all chicken keepers. But it's not just their egg-laying capacity that's exceptional; their rapid growth will also delight you. A simple coop is all the Bantam Marans, barred-gold, need, and raising them is straightforward. They are particularly well-suited for small gardens, as they don't require much space. They do, however, enjoy having access to a run. We love our Bantam Marans and place great importance on the beautiful brown eggshell color; due to genetics, the bantam hens cannot achieve the shell color of the larger breed.
Anyone interested in breeding or keeping bantam chickens would be very well advised to consider true bantam Marans. However, this color variety is not yet recognized by the BDRG (German Poultry Breeders Association). See for yourself and be captivated by these little bantam Marans wonders.
